The Rose Garden Deadheaders are a team of volunteers who help keep the rose bushes looking their best throughout the year. This essential team of people come on their own time to "deadhead" the bushes, removing the spent blooms.

Each volunteer can be assigned a small part of the garden to be responsible for if they wish. The volunteers then choose the best time in their schedule to visit the garden and "deadhead". Others come and work as needed, sometimes helping place fertilizer or mulch in the beds.

All enjoy the fellowship of working together in the Garden.  "We come to The Rose Garden at MCC to care for the roses, and in so doing, come to care for each other". Many are winter visitors and join us only in those months.  Many of our Deadheaders come every month to our 3rd Saturday-of-the-month meeting in the Garden.

Volunteer Deadheaders can expect the following:
1. Participate in meaningful work that benefits one's self and the Garden.
2. Receive accurate, valuable training and information on rose care.
3. Receive the benefit of up-to-date information and support from the
    Deadheaders support web site.
4. Recognized both formally and informally for volunteer work contribution.
5. Made aware of all information that directly affects one's work and area of
    responsibility.
6. Enhance skills through continuing education.
7. Earn more responsible assignments within the Garden Volunteer Program.
8. Meet others with similar interests and develop new friendships.
9. Experience the joy that comes from sharing with Garden visitors, and helping
    them to appreciate the beauty of our Garden and our national flower.

Come visit us at one of our 3rd Saturday meetings. We meet on the East patio, just East of the road "MCC Rose Garden - Entrance", off of Southern Avenue. Our morning starts at 8:00 am with a short meeting with donuts and coffee/water. The we move into the rose beds to work.
